WHO WE ARE

RGDC stands for Ramanuj Gupta Degree College, situated at Silchar town of Cachar, in the state of India. This college has started its academic journey on 30th July, 2017, at the initiative of Ramanuj Gupta Charitable Trust. The college is established to fulfil the long-cherished dream of the founder father of the Trust, Dr. Rahul Gupta, who left for heavenly abode on 16th August, 2016. At present, the college is running all the three streams namely Arts, Science and Commerce (Both Pass and Honours).

RAMANUJ GUPTA MEMORIAL CHARITABLE TRUST

A philanthropic Organisation was formed under the patronage of Dr. Rahul Gupta to perpetuate the memory of his late memory of his departed son Ramanuj Gupta who met the tragic end of his life at the prime of his youth.
The Trust decided to sponsor initially a Junior College under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Bamunimaidam, and Guwahati, to be named “Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, with science stream a purely private institution as a part of a comprehensive programme, which includes plan for starting a full-fledged degree College eventually.
The College Governing Body in a meeting held on 19th March 2002 decided to start Arts Stream of the College from the academic session 2002-2003. Further in the year 2007, the College Governing Body decided to start Commerce Stream in the College from the session 2008 -09.
The Trust in a bid to fulfil the long cherished dream of Late President Dr. Rahul Gupta and to honor the requests from a section of the guardians, has decided to start a degree college namely “Ramanuj Gupta Degree College” from the 2017—2018 academic session under Assam University, Silchar. It commenced initially with B.Com. and B.A. (Pass & Honours) courses and with the introduction BSC (Pass and Honours) at the undergraduate level from the session 2019-20,another significant milestone is achieved in the domain of Higher Education in Barak Valley.
