The undergraduate department of Philosophy was established in the year 2017 under the non-CBCS curriculum. However later with the introduction of CBCS in the year 2018 and National Education Policy 2020, the Four Year Under Graduate ( FYUG) program in 2023, the department is fully functional with well experienced teachers having academic and professional field expertise who help to develop the students ability to assimilate and assess new and unfamiliar ideas and information such as Applied Ethics, Contemporary Philosophy, Logical Reasoning etc. Being holistic in nature, philosophy is necessarily interdisciplinary in its outlook. The discipline of philosophy, which is both ancient and contemporary, is indispensable in current academia. Nevertheless, it's practical import is apparent in all walks of life, such as national policy decisions, corporate management, media, law, ecology, gender science, technology, in culture and traditions that we inherit and also in those that influence us. None of these can function without sound and critical philosophical foundation which helps the students to compete in different competitive as well as national level entrances.
